Wild Forest Fires

Our Story.

"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." -Theodore Roosevelt

Goats & Hoes first began as an idea following two fires that took my aunts home in Santa Barbara and my uncles home in Ojai Califonia. My aunt was raised in her home, raised her own children and even her grandchildren in her Santa barbera home. My uncle had his small ranch in Ojai California where he, his wife and 5 children ran the land and raised animals. Upon further investigation, a sitdown mower used to clear dry brush at a popular fast food chain was found to have sparked this fire that claimed so many homes. The next year, my aunt's 6 siblings all lost their homes in the 2018 Paradise fires. The feeling of helplessness was overwelming and defeating. Something had to be done and I strongly belived in the power of prevention and common sence. Not only have the California fires taken a personal toll, they have negatively affected our climate and air quality on a much larger scale. With cases of asthma rising along with wildfires, a more sustainable preventable option seems necessary.

In the spring of 1918, American President Woodrow Wilson hired sheep to graze the lawns and brush of The White House. Goats & Hoes would not only like to help the envirnment, but to normalize the use of animals on your property in a safe and adorable way.
